Welcome to Jacob's Ladder
The mission of Jacob's Ladder is to promote the recovery of individuals suffering the effects of substance abuse. We provide vital support services as needed so they can turn from a life of crime to one of responsible, self-supporting citizenship. (We are the first rung up the ladder to successful living outside the system.)

Jacob's Ladder is a Louisiana Non-profit Corporation operated by a group of local citizens and business owners who believe people should get another chance. We are followers of Jesus Christ, and understand the importance of reaching out to those in distress.

Who We Are
What We Do

Jacob's Ladder operates in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana assiting people in court appointed treatment programs. Some have no job, limited transportation, and very little support from family or friends. A sense of hopelessness and depression can be overwhelming when the journey of recovery begins. This often results in the person returning to substance abuse shortly after being released from incarceration. Jacob's Ladder gives a "hand up" by providing temporary assistance to those re-entering the community.
Some of the assistance we offer includes:
- Temporary guest housing near public transportation
- Kitchen and laundry priviledges
- Mentors
- Job Search Assistance
- Life Skills Coaching
- Coaching for GED/diploma
- Addiction Recovery Support Groups
Our intention is to provide a clean and sober environment with new social contacts and activities that will lead to a successful recovery. At Jacob's Ladder, those who truly desire a new lease on life will find the help they need.
